Watch baby turtles heading out to sea

Photo taken from The Jakarta Post.

All kids these days should develop a sense of environmental responsibility. One exciting way to do this in Indonesia is available in Bali. You and your kids can watch baby turtles being released back into the wild and swimming out to sea.
This exciting opportunity is now possible through the Kurma Kasih Foundation. The foundation was was set up in 1997, and protects turtle nests until the turtles are ready to be released. For a small fee, you can adopt a nest, and then get the privilege of watching the babies set off into the big blue sea.

Camping near Jakarta at Cibodas

As a kid, I always loved camping. I remember at one point I wondered why we bothered having a house at all, as living in a tent is much more fun!

Indonesia has its fair share of great camping locations, and many are close to Jakarta. One such place is next to the Cibodas Botanical Gardens, which has featured on this blog previously.

While we've visited Cibodas several times for day trips, we've not had a chance to try the camping site. However another popular Jakarta blogger, Jakartass, and his family have camped there. You can read about their camping experiences at Cibodas here.

What is your favourite camping ground in Indonesia?

Police Academy Stunt Man Show Ancol Jakarta: The Chameleon

The Police Academy Stunt Man Show is back in Ancol, Jakarta this year. Last year's Police Academy show in Ancol was a huge hit, and this year it is back with a new show titled "The Chameleon".

The Police Academy Show is a spectacular and high action stunt show. It features amazing car driving stunts that your kids will love. If your boys love cars (as just about all boys do), they'll love this show. But this is not just a show for boys. Even the girls are amazed by the action.

The show will run from 6 June to 18 August 2009. Tickets are available on the spot in Ancol, and cost about Rp100,000 to Rp150,000.
